A late19th century cast iron mechanical bank satirizing Willam 'Boss' Tweed (1823-1878)  the notoriously corrupt Tammany Hall leader with a  propensity for accepting bribes.    When a coin is placed in the figures hand the weight causes the hand to lower and deposit the coin in the pocket followed by an approving nod of the head.
