A very rare cast bronze car mascot in the form of a monkey smoking a pipe and clutching a tobacco jar.  The monkey is superbly sculpted and cast.  French and dating from the mid to late 1920s, this is a heavy and substantial bronze and the nickle plated finish is in excellent condition.  The monkey is mounted to its original period correct knurled radiator cap.   An old French dealer label is extant  on the underside of cap. This mascot came from the estate of a noted private collector of important European cars and the owner of a number of Pebble Beach winning cars.
